Bradley made his first non-comic appearance in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and would make for a powerful addition to this story. On the flip side of the Commandos' coin, another group of soldiers that may appear would be the Black super soldiers created in Project Rebirth, particularly Isaiah Bradley. The most significant connection would be a young Nick Fury, who usually leads the group. Since Gabriel Jones is a Commando, it's likely that other familiar faces from Captain America's Marvel WW2 adventures will appear. If Bucky and the Invaders do end up in the game, they could be accompanied by villains such as Baron Zemo and Baron Blood as well.īesides Bucky Barnes, another classic group of World War Two heroes are the Howling Commandos. The Invaders consisted of many members over the years, with some of its biggest names being Bucky, Namor the Sub-Mariner, the original Human Torch, and Union Jack. Since Cap will be spending time with Wakandan forces, Bucky may be elsewhere fighting with the Invaders, a team he was a member of in the comics. Though he isn't a playable hero, the future Avengers Winter Soldier is likely to play a part as well.

Throughout a number of storylines, Captain America's service in World War Two has seen him fight alongside many heroes and supporting characters, with the most iconic being Bucky Barnes. Luckily, introducing heroic supporting characters is where this game could start to become even more interesting. Even with the combined efforts of Captain America and Black Panther, taking down Hydra will be anything but simple. Depending on how expansive the game's story ends up being, players may even have to face Zola in his signature robotic body. Hydra mainstays such as the Red Skull, Arnim Zola, and Wolfgang von Strucker are sure to be among the game's antagonists, considering their classic roles as Hydra brass. Since Uncharted's creator is making Marvel's Black Panther and Cap game, its story will likely be a sprawling epic with many twists, turns, and reveals. Hydra equipment can be seen in the reveal trailer, but how many of known characters will appear remains to be seen. Given this game's setting against the backdrop of World War Two, it seems almost certain that Hydra will be its primary villainous faction.

There's no word on when Skydance's Marvel game will see the light of day.

Even with this setback, however, Skydance and Hennig appear to be working on an entirely new Star Wars project. Recall that she was supposed to write a Star Wars game for Visceral Games before Electronic Arts decided to shutter Visceral Games for good and cancel the project. Hennig joined Skydance back in November 2019 and while she's had a lot of success directing the Uncharted series, she was also at the center of a lot of turmoil. It's been a long, long journey for Skydance New Media and for Amy Hennig, specifically. While there are few details regarding the narrative, a post-livestream conversation with Hennig and fellow writer Marc Bernardin noted that the story will take inspiration from some noteworthy crossovers between Captain America and Black Panther in the comics, including Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers. Little else is known about the narrative, other than these characters are brought together by the escalating world conflict and growing threat of the Axis Power and HYDRA. Players will take control of four different heroes at various points of the story: Captain America, a younger Steve Rogers long before he's frozen in ice Black Panther, who is not T'Challa, but his grandfather Azzuri Gabriel Jones, one of Nick Fury's Howling Commandos and Nanali, the leader of the Wakandan Spy Network.

What is known about this untitled project? It's a narrative-driven single-player story that will take players into the World War II era.

Players should brace themselves for an epic crossover between Captain American and Black Panther that takes them back in time to World War II. Friday's Disney & Marvel Games Showcase from the 2022 D23 Expo continued with a fresh reveal from Marvel and Amy Hennig's Skydance New Media studio.
